Vogue 101 with Jaws

  • Mimico Square 2441 Lake Shore Boulevard West Toronto, ON, M8V 1C5 Canada (map)

Always wanted to learn how to Vogue? In this beginner dance workshop, we will be tapping into our feminine performance and learning the art of posing through the elements of Vogue – hands performance, catwalk, duckwalk, floor performance, and spins and dips so you can get your 10s,10s,10s!

Jaws is a Latinx non-binary artist, dancer, teacher, ‘fatha’ and performer in the Canadian Ballroom Scene. They have performed in multiple works of live performances, festivals, competitions and shows such as Fall For Dance North, PUMA, PrideTo, Toronto Dance Theatre, Myst Milano’s: The Uncanny Valley and more. Jaws began as a street dancer over a decade ago before entering Toronto’s Kiki Ballroom Alliance in 2019, where they joined the Supreme Kiki House of Siriano. In 2024, they were honoured with a parent role within Siriano and also became a member of the international mainstream House of Balenciaga. Beyond performing and competing, Jaws is deeply committed to uplifting and collaborating with fellow trans and queer artists through accessible workshops, outreach initiatives, and community events like the Ballroom Community Dinners.
